Dreams carry immense weight for those who believe in their power, and their fulfilment is even sweeter when the seemingly impossible becomes reality.

For 29-year-old Muhammed Yaseen, who secured the second rank in the Kerala Judicial Service Examination, this moment of triumph marks the culmination of relentless struggle and resilience.

Yaseen was once known as the newspaper boy of Vilayur. But now, he proudly holds the title of Magistrate.

Hailing from Vilayur, a small village in Palakkad, Kerala, Yaseen’s life began with challenges.

Abandoned by his father at the age of three, he and his younger brother were raised solely by their mother, an ASHA worker.

Poverty, societal insults, and neglect became his constant companions.

At just seven years old, Yaseen started working to support his family.

He juggled jobs as a newspaper delivery boy, milk supplier, painter, and food delivery agent.

Yaseen said that insults and hardships were his investments. Despite being labelled a below-average student in school and facing discrimination for his family’s circumstances, he never gave up.

After earning a degree in Public Administration and a diploma in Electronics, he joined Ernakulam Government Law College in 2019 to pursue his passion for law.

Balancing college by day and food delivery at night, Yaseen excelled academically, eventually ranking among the top five in his university.

His perseverance and dedication earned him accolades, including recognition in moot court competitions and later, the Outstanding Lawyer Award in his first year of practice.

Yaseen’s success, however, has not made him complacent. Though he faced numerous challenges throughout his life, he never turned back. Rather, he saw them as an opportunity to develop.

Determined to work for oppressed communities, he vows to remain a representative of those who share his struggles.

Yaseen hopes to serve society better for a brighter, more just future.
