Difficulties are quite common in life. Only a few people will overcome the hardships in their life to achieve their goals.

Here is an instance of an inspirational IAS officer who once sold bread to meet his basic needs.

Rajesh Patil hailed from a tiny village in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. His parents had a very small agricultural land.

Like many other farmers, droughts, crop failures and debts are quite common for them as well. In addition to that, due to seasonal employment in agriculture, they did not have enough money to meet their family needs.

In this situation, his parents often had to work as manual labourers to provide good education to their children.

They faced very hard struggles to survive. To help his parents, Rajesh used to work in various ways to earn money. He sold bread and vegetables in his childhood and did all types of agricultural labour until he finished his graduation.

Rajesh was not so bright in his studies in his childhood. Moreover, his naughty behavior made his parents worried about his future.

But, as age grew, Rajesh showed interest in his studies. He passed with good marks in his class 10. The results encouraged him a lot to study well in further exams.

He started a self-driven journey and became excellent by the completion of class 12 exams.

Though he could get a medical or engineering seat with his marks in some of the reputed colleges in the country, he simply joined in graduation as he did not want to put more burden on his parents.

He wanted to do something in the administrative services.

From the very beginning, he worked hard to achieve his goal. He succeeded and joined IAS.

Rajesh joined the services under the Odisha Cadre and began his journey as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Athgarh, Koraput, in 2006.
