Tonbo- Imaging systems

Tonbo is a company which designs, builds and deploys advanced imaging and sensor systems. They are used at professional level situations for sensing, understanding and controlling complex environments.

Various situations where these imaging sensors can be used include modern day battlefields, critical infrastructures, unmanned reconnaissance, and transport vehicles driving in the dark. All these situations are tough in terms of visualization. These imaging sensors offer support to people to get a better view of their surrounding in tough situations.

Navigators are often troubled by things like smoke, dust, fog and camouflage. The services offered by Tonbo Imaging helps address critical market needs in military reconnaissance, critical infrastructure security and transportation safety.

Tonbo Imaging makes new designs in micro-optics, lower power electronics and real-time vision processing which are used to design imaging systems for real world applications. In the traditional systems the burden of image formation is generally taken by the optics.

Tonbo’s technology creates a balance between front end analog processing by using sophisticated digital image processing. This processing helped the realization of light weight, low power imaging platforms across visible, mid wave IR and long wave IR spectrums.

Tonbo Imaging has origins from of Sarnoff Corporation and Stanford Research International as it is a spinout from them. As a result, the team at Tonbo boasts members who are very experienced on a range of battlefield modernization technologies, immersive surveillance and strategic electronics for military applications.

The Co-founders of Tonbo Imaging are Arvind Lakshmikuma, Ankit Kumar, Sudeep George and Cecilia D’Souza.
