At 75, Meenakshi Mehra defies societal norms by thriving as an entrepreneur in the culinary world.

Her venture, MomMade, is more than a business; it’s a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of reinvention, proving that age is truly just a number.

Born into a family of freedom fighters, Meenakshi grew up with resilience and service embedded in her DNA.

Her parents’ sacrifices during India’s independence movement taught her the value of purpose and perseverance.

Influenced by these lessons, she pursued an education in interior design, graduating from one of the first such courses in India in 1969.

After dedicating 17 years to raising her daughters, Meenakshi resumed her career in interior design in 1995, working with prestigious clients.

However, life’s challenges in 2018—including the loss of her husband and in-laws—pushed her toward an unexpected yet fulfilling path.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Meenakshi turned her lifelong hobby of making pickles into a full-fledged business. With encouragement from her daughters, she launched MomMade in 2021 at the age of 72.

Offering a variety of pickles, sweets, chutneys, and beverages, the brand emphasizes quality and health.

Meenakshi ensures her products are made with organic ingredients, avoiding artificial additives and preservatives.

Her meticulous approach includes sourcing premium raw materials, small-batch preparation, and hands-on involvement in the production process.

Supported by her daughters, who assist with branding and digital presence, Meenakshi has expanded MomMade across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Her commitment to excellence and her ability to adapt has made her a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Meenakshi says that hard work will be rewarded if you pursue your passions regardless of age or gender. She exemplifies the spirit of lifelong learning and adaptability.
