Online deliveries have been increasing in the country for the past year due to COVID-19. Considering the huge potential and rapid growth in this sector, many startups are emerging into the market.

Farmers’ Family is one such startup. It is an agritech startup aiming to deliver farm fresh products directly to the doorsteps of the customers.

Farmers’ Family is a Noida-based startup. Customers can get farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, groceries etc., at their doorsteps through the app. The startup also sells cut and peeled vegetables and fruits.

Farmers’ Family was launched in June 2020 by Vikal Kulshreshtha. As he came from a hospitality background, he knew the difficulties of obtaining fresh vegetables and fruits for homes and restaurants during the lockdown. Hence, he started the services of Farmers’ Family.

The startup works with 80 farmers directly. Besides, vegetables and fruits are sourced from 400 farmers through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

In addition to that, the startup has its own supply chain for daily operations, from sourcing raw materials to cleaning, storage and delivery to the end customer.

Farmers’ Family has a team of agronomists to check the quality and monitor the supply chain.

After procuring the produce from farmers, the startup cleans them with ultrasonic and ozone technology. Before delivering them to the customers, they are packed hygienically.

The startup mainly depends on technology to avoid wastage and reduce human interferences.

The produce of the startup can cater to the needs of around 20 lakh families in Delhi-NCR.

It receives 100 orders per day. The average ticket size ranges from ₹300 to ₹500. The startup provides several special offers and coupon deals to its customers.

So far, the startup delivered around 15,000 orders. The app serves 1,200 people in a month. Among them, 80 per cent of them are repeat customers.
