Virat Kohli scores 500 in a Test Series in Australia
Virat Kohli became the second Indian who scored 500 runs in a Test series in Australia. This milestone was reached by him on the fourth and final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday. In the three earlier matches, Kohli has already scored three centuries. He entered the fourth match with a total of 499 runs from the three earlier matches of the series.
Kohli reached this milestone by hitting a four in the bowling of off-spinner Nathan Lyon during the morning session in the 44th over of India’s first innings.
Before Kohli, the first person to reach this milestone was Rahul Dravid who scored 619 runs from eight innings in the 2003 – 2004 Australia tour. Kohli, 26, has played 33 test matches and was in his seventh innings in the series when he reached this milestone successfully.
