After M.S. Dhoni announced his resignation as the Captain, there were several suggestions made by people.
However, Virat Kohli was appointed as India’s new limited-overs captain. Virat Kohli is known for hard-hitting batting style.
He has an 18-match unbeaten run as Test captain. From 15 January, he will officially be leading India in three one-day internationals as his first matches.
Virat Kohli, 28 is ranked as the number one batsman of the world in T20 cricket.
He is in the second position for 50 over matches and test matches.
He has been leading team India victoriously from early 2015.
He led to five successive series victories and scored three double centuries. He broke the records for highest runs scored in both last year’s World T20 tournament.
Kohli made his debut in 2008. He scored 7,570 runs in 176 ODIs. He has made 26 centuries and 38 half-centuries with a great average of 52.94.

Kohli himself, however, said that M.S. Dhoni will always be his captain.
He showed his high regard for the ex-captain and praised his leadership which led to team India winning world cup 2011 on home ground.
Kohli will have his first major challenge in June when the Indian team has to defend the Champions Trophy in England.
At present, Team India is at the top of Test rankings.
However, it is in second place in ODI cricket and third in T20.
