How to track Aadhaar misuse
Aadhaar card has become mandatory for many things. Due to the notification from the Department of Revenue, it is mandatory for Aadhaar cardholders to link their 12-digit unique identification number to their bank accounts.
As the Aadhaar card is linked to many things and contains all personal information, the fear of it getting misused is common for many.
If you are one of the many with such a fear, now you can put them to rest.
The UIDAI has launched a new initiative to tackle this problem. Now you have the option of finding out the history of your Aadhaar card usage.
Simply visit the UIDAI’s official website to easily track your history of Aadhaar card usage. In the details, you can find where your Aadhaar number was used.
Here is a step by step guide on how to do this.
Visit the official website of UIDAI, which is uidai.gov.in.
Go to the Aadhaar services tab and click ‘Aadhaar Authentication History.’
After that, you will be asked to enter your unique Aadhaar number.
Once you enter your Aadhaar number, you need to generate an OTP that you need to enter in the website.
After you do that, you will get into a page where you need to select the type of authentication you want from a list of options.
The options are biometrics, demographics, OTP, demographic & biometric, biometric & OTP and demographic & OTP.
You can check all of them by selecting All.
You will get a history of usage from the last seven months. Select your date range for checking your history.
One thing to remember is that you cannot check who made the requests.
