Odisha girl makes a portrait of PM Modi using food grains
Odisha-based miniature artist Priyanka Sahani crafted the portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi using various food grains. PM Modi is celebrating his birthday today. On this occasion, Sahani wanted to wish him uniquely. That’s why she made his portrait using rice grains and pulses.
She used Odisha’s traditional Pattachitra Kala to make this eight-feet-tall portrait. Sahani said that the portrait is a gift to the PM from the people of her state. She used food grains as India is an agricultural country.
Sahani is a miniature artist. Hence, it was a challenging task for her to craft the portrait of PM Modi. It took around 25 hours for Sahani to design the portrait.
The portrait is unique in its design in many ways. Sahani drew the map of the country on the heart of Modi. Thus, she wanted to convey that India resides in the heart of PM Modi. At the same time, the PM is also in the heart of Indians. Using food grains to craft the portrait, she wants to portray that India is an agricultural country.
Sahani has a great talent. She created many masterpieces in the past also. She acquired these skills from her late father, Bibekananda Sahni.
Several other artists also marked the birthday of PM Modi. A renowned Odisha-based sand artist and Padma Shri awardee SudarsanPattnaik is one among them. He created a special sculpture of PM Modi using more than 2000 shells at Puri beach today.
To celebrate the 71st birthday of PM Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to celebrate it. PM Modi completed 20 years in public. Hence, BJP wants to combine both these celebrations by launching Seva or Samarpan Abhiyan campaign. It will be continued for 20 days, till October 7.
