Katrina Kaif to act with Jackie Chan
Katrina Kaif has signed her first international film and she will starring alongside Jackie Chan. The film is titled Kung Fu Yoga. The film will be under the genre of action-adventure. The director of the film is Stanley Tong, a Hong Kong based movie maker. He had earlier helmed the Jackie Chan classic, Rumble in the Bronx.
The 31-year-old actress, who was born in Hong Kong, will be playing an Indian professor at a Chinese university. Jackie Chan will be starring as a Chinese archaeologist who enlists her help to unearth treasures from the Magadha era.
The two embark on a treasure hunt that begins in the family of King Bimbisara. Bimbisara was king of Magadh Empire who dominated it from around 542 BC to 492 BC. He was celebrated for his cultural achievements and was a good friend and protector of Gautam Buddha.
As the film is starring Jackie Chan, a martial arts professional, the film will be packed with plenty of stunts which isn’t really surprising. What’s fascinating is that Katrina too will get to do several action scenes, says a source near the film development who observed that she did plenty of action scenes in Ek Tha Tiger too.
In the film, the professor (Kaif) and therefore the archaeologist (Chan) will travel back in time and mingle with the royals. They also will fight off demons from their past, adds the source.
