India opens world cup with a great victory
The first match of India gave the team a comfortable.
To make matters better, the match was against Pakistan.
The match was much hyped due to the controversy that always existed between India and Pakistan. India scored 300 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs.
However, the fielding went really strong with India and the team managed to all-out Pakistan at a score of 224 in 47 overs. This is a very comfortable win for India and will definitely boost the confidence.
Since India is the defending champion now, there would much more pressure on the team.
Umesh Yadav has taken two wickets after giving 50 runs and Mohammed Shami has taken the highest number of wickets by getting 4 for 35 runs.
Virat Kohli fueled the match with a century while Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan scored 74 and 73 runs respectively.
Hopefully, this will be the first of many victories to come for India.
