How to get a duplicate Aadhaar
The Aadhaar card is a necessity for performing all government services nowadays. Therefore, people can easily panic if they lose their Aadhaar card. However, there is a rather simple solution to solve this problem, in case this should happen.
There is now a method for downloading a duplicate Aadhaar card online, in case the original goes missing or is misplaced. This can be used to confirm one’s Aadhaar number.
The only thing needed to acquire a new Aadhaar is a device with an internet connection and one’s mobile phone number or email address, which is necessary for the One-Time Password used to get the card. These are the steps to follow in order to acquire the E-Aadhaar card:
· Log in to the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (or UIDAI) and find the option labelled “Retrieve Your Lost EID/UID”.
· Choose and select either the Aadhaar Number (UID) or the Enrolment Number (EID).
· Enter all of the personal information required. This includes your full name, your email address, and your mobile phone number.
· Enter the displayed security cache, which will prove that you are not a robot, and click on the button labelled “Get OTP”.
· A One-Time Password (or OTP), will then be delivered to either your mobile phone number or your email address. After you receive the password, enter it in the box labelled and then click on the button labelled “Verify OTP”.
· After the OTP has been verified, a message will be sent to either the mobile phone number or the email address with the Aadhaar Number or the Enrolment Number.
· Click on the “Download Aadhaar” option on the UIDAI website, and select either the UID or EID option under “I Have”. After doing this, enter either the Aadhaar Number or the Enrolment Number.
· Give all of the necessary personal information required and then click on another button to receive a second OTP. This will then be delivered either to your mobile phone number or email address, depending on which one you entered.
· Enter the second OTP in the box labelled, and then click on the button labelled “Validate and Download”. The E-Aadhaar Card will then be downloaded to your device.
