DIY hand sanitizer and masks
The deadly coronavirus cases are rising in the country. Several are using masks even though they are not essential. Hence, they are overpriced in many places. Furthermore, they are scarce in the country.
At the same time, the importance of hand sanitizers led to its scarcity. Many chemists are selling them over price as no stock boards are found.
In this situation, you can make your own hand sanitizer and mask.
To prepare hand sanitizer, the following ingredients are needed:
- Isopropyl Alcohol
- Aloe Vera Gel
- Essential oils
You will also need gloves, a funnel and a plastic bottle.
To make an effective hand sanitizer, the percentage of alcohol should be 60% or more. So, take the quantity of isopropyl alcohol to aloe vera gel in 2:1 ratio. Essential oil gives a pleasant smell to your hand sanitizer.
Procedure:
- Wear gloves and mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Then pour it into a plastic bottle using a funnel.
- Use it whenever necessary.
Hand sanitizers are not as effective as hand washing. So, use hand sanitizer when you do not have the option of hand washing.
There is no need of masks for normal persons. However, if you are going out into a crowd, it is better to use masks. In the present position, it is better to avoid public congregations and social gatherings. Yet, if you happen to go in an inevitable condition, then use the mask.
Here are the steps to make your own mask:
- There are many mask sewing patterns available on the internet. Download and print the design.
- Then cut the fabric by tracing the design. Sew it as per clip curve and turn right side and stitch.
- Insert elastic cords to the ear-pocket and stitch the loops.
