Among them, a group of passionate class 10 students has come up with an ingenious solution to combat the scorching heat.

Meet Uday Singh, Armaan Sharma, V Sahi Seshadri, Sourish Grover, and Lakshya Goswami from Shiv Nadar School, who have created a portable, affordable, and eco-friendly cooling device named Zephyrus.

The students, despite having access to advanced cooling systems, felt the intensity of summer heat. This led them to think about those who lacked the luxury of air conditioners and coolers.

With a vision to help those in need, they set out to devise a cooling device that was both budget-friendly and environmentally friendly.

Zephyrus stands apart from conventional cooling devices due to its innovative utilization of the Peltier principle.

By leveraging this principle, the device eliminates the need for external cooling agents, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. Not only does it efficiently cool spaces, but it can also be used as a heater, showcasing its versatility.

Currently priced at a reasonable ₹5,500, Zephyrus proves to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional coolers. The students aim to make it accessible to those who cannot afford expensive cooling appliances.

Moreover, they are actively exploring the incorporation of solar panels into their creation to further reduce the device’s environmental impact.

During their school project’s brainstorming phase, the students identified the issue of affordable cooling solutions, and this motivated them to create Zephyrus.

From a mere idea to a tangible eco-friendly cooling device, their journey has been one of innovation and determination.

The ingenuity of these young minds serves as an inspiring example for the next generation, emphasizing the significance of addressing climate-related challenges.

As environmental concerns take centre stage in society, the zeal and creativity of youngsters like Uday, Armaan, V Sahi, Sourish, and Lakshya offer hope for a greener and more sustainable future.

With Zephyrus, they have demonstrated that even small efforts can yield significant results in the fight against the climate crisis.
