TS people’s innovative solutions illuminate the People’s Festival of Innovations
In the symphony of tragedy, innovation often finds its rhythm. SK Rajalipasha, a 36-year-old teacher from Khammam, is orchestrating a transformative tune.
Afflicted with hearing impairment himself, Rajalipasha empathetically tuned into the challenges faced by his community while navigating the chaotic streets on two-wheelers.
Motivated by personal loss, a dear friend’s fatal road accident, he embarked on a quest to devise a solution.
Over two years, Rajalipasha’s ingenuity took shape in the form of a unique safety helmet tailored for the deaf.
This exceptional headgear doesn’t merely amplify sounds; instead, it illuminates the front whenever a vehicle honks from behind.
The light serves as a cautionary signal, empowering the hearing-impaired to stay vigilant of approaching vehicles.
His innovation earned him a spot among the five chosen by the Telangana State Innovation Cell to represent the state at the People’s Festival of Innovations (PFI) in New Delhi.
Joining Rajalipasha on this innovative journey are four dynamic 20-year-olds, Tejaswi Velugapally, K Pragnya Sree, B Sai Mrudula, and G Sunidhi. Armed with degrees in biotechnology, they unveiled TechRedi, a revolutionary product addressing the storage and mobility challenges faced by street vendors.
Their invention promises to keep vegetables fresh for up to four days, aiding vendors in avoiding losses and providing customers with consistently fresh and healthy produce. The model also facilitates longer travel through an e-vehicle approach.
Another gem in Telangana’s innovation crown is an automated mechanical timer device designed by a farmer and his son.
Targeted at enhancing drip irrigation, this invention aims to minimize human errors in watering crops.
The duo shared an incident from their farm where a lapse led to overwatering in one section and parched crops in another, resulting in diseases and reduced yields.
Their device not only mitigates such setbacks but also contributes to water conservation.
Another innovation is a power-saving street light control device and a multi-functional health bed for the visually impaired, rounding up the innovative ensemble representing Telangana at the PFI.
These ingenious solutions, each addressing a societal need, underscore the state’s commitment to fostering creativity for tangible, positive impacts.
