Mobile wallet app ‘buddy’ by SBI | Fusion - WeRIndia

State Bank of India has launched a mobile wallet app called, SBI Buddy. This new app service was launched in collaboration with Accenture and Mastercard. The app service can be used by non-SBI customers along with existing customers.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley along with Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance and Hasmukh Adhia, Secretary, Department of Financial Services launched this app. The launch of the app is to attract more customers by becoming the provider of choice.

SBI Chairwoman Arundhati Bhattacharya has stated that Mobile is at the center of transformation for this country. She added that this move will strengthen their position in the transformation of the country.

Users can use the mobile app to send money to new and registered customers. It can be used to book tickets for movie, hotel rooms, and even shopping. The app can even give reminders to settle dues, recharge and pay bills fast. Users can download the app from the Google Play Store at present. The iOS version will be launched soon.

Along with the mobile app, SBI also launched SBI Foundation. It is the implementing agency for corporate social responsibility activities of the lender. The foundation’s aim is to promote causes related to education.
