Uday’s journey began with a visit to Bichpuri, Uttar Pradesh, where the plight of village students, facing disrupted studies due to frequent power outages, ignited his passion for change.

Determined to overcome the cost barrier, Uday embarked on a relentless quest for a solution.

After 24 attempts and countless experiments on his terrace, he crafted an inverter bulb with a cleverly integrated lithium-ion battery.

Priced at a mere ₹250, each bulb promises 8 to 10 hours of illumination without power, offering longevity and a one-year warranty.

Launched in May 2022, Uday’s bulbs became a game-changer, lighting up homes and dreams across various states. These include Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

With an initial fund of ₹30,000, the venture rapidly gained momentum, becoming a household name.

Uday engaged local farmers and villagers, transforming his project into a community-driven enterprise.

Now outsourced for manufacturing, the initiative has become a vital source of income for many in these areas.

Uday’s impactful work didn’t go unnoticed; he was honoured with the prestigious Diana Award in 2023.

Beyond accolades, the true brilliance lies in the bulbs’ impact, representing steps toward a brighter future for rural households grappling with darkness.

He sold 7,000 units and generated a substantial revenue of ₹17.5 Lakh.
