ALVE: Revolutionizing air fresheners with nature and technology
In an era where sustainability and health are paramount, Rajiv Sharma, a visionary student from India, has created a groundbreaking air freshener called ALVE, setting a new standard in the industry.
ALVE stands out in a market typically dominated by chemical-laden, plastic-based products, offering an eco-friendly and health-conscious alternative.
The inception of ALVE traces back to a health scare within the Sharma family, caused by the harmful chemicals in conventional air fresheners.
Rajiv, affected personally and driven by his background in carpentry and creativity, embarked on developing a safer solution.
Utilizing flower waste from local temples, he developed a natural fragrance, laying the foundation for ALVE.
The National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh, where Rajiv studies, recognized the potential of his innovation.
With their support, ALVE evolved into a refined product, integrating sustainable practices and smart technology. After eight months of development and 20 prototypes, ALVE was ready for the market.
ALVE’s uniqueness lies in its composition and functionality. It uses natural ingredients, primarily temple flower waste, ensuring a pleasant yet harmless fragrance.
The air freshener is designed to be fully compostable, addressing the environmental issues of traditional air fresheners.
Additionally, ALVE features smart sensors that detect human presence, activating and deactivating accordingly.
This smart integration extends to compatibility with Google Assistant, enhancing user convenience.
Rajiv’s commitment to sustainability is evident in his collaboration with over 30 temples in Jamshedpur, repurposing at least 3 kg of floral waste daily.
This initiative has led to the recycling of 1,500 kg of temple waste. Moreover, his involvement with the Jharkhand Animal Welfare Society has influenced ALVE’s animal-friendly design, free of plastics and harmful chemicals.
Operating from his home, Rajiv’s startup, ALVE Green Solutions, has seen significant success.
In just five months, over 850 units have been sold, generating a revenue of over ₹2 lakh.
A partnership with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore is set to further propel ALVE’s innovation and reach.
ALVE is currently available offline, at various events, and through its website. Plans for broader distribution are underway.
Rajiv Sharma’s ALVE is not just an air freshener; it’s a movement towards a healthier, more sustainable world, proving that clean air and eco-consciousness can go hand in hand.
