US, Mysuru kids learn from each other

AIM for Seva

A group of NRI students and children of donors for All India Movement (AIM) for Seva from the US are helping kids from both places learn more about each other.

The American students who visited AIM for Seva Chatralaya in Mysuru saw 35 girls who are undergoing free education. The American students were surprised at the simplistic life style followed here. On the other hand, the Indian students were enthusiastic about the positive approach and the English skills of the Americans.

17 American students ranging from eighth graders to twelfth graders were involved in training at Chatralaya. During the two day visit, the guest students will impart knowledge in basic English, math, cultural activities like songs, and dance including Bharatanatyam, and basic communication skills at Chatralaya.

The group will also show the importance of cleanliness and safety through skits. In order to improve team building skills, sports like kabaddi, volleyball, Frisbee, and badminton were conducted. Before Mysuru, the group of students visited the Chatralaya at Kyathnalli in Pandavapura.

The volunteers of AIM will conduct a survey to find children who need higher standards of education. These students will be shortlisted and selected after an interview to improve the education standards.
