Yoga day set to be a Guinness record

Yoga day set to be a Guinness record

June 21 marks the International Yoga Day. It is expected that there will be close to 40,000 people attending this event. As it is such a big day, the AYUSH ministry is planning on registering the event in the Guinness Book of World Records.

A senior official of the AYUSH Ministry has told that the ministry is trying for the Guinness Book of World Records. He stated that the conditions are very strenuous as the parameters for a Guinness World record are very strict. In order to fit the parameters, the ministry is working out on that aspect. It was further added that the ministry will do everything to sort it out.

Sources have stated that event is likely to be registered as the largest demonstration of yoga display in one place. The mass event will be held for 35 minutes. Many people including students, government officials, masses and other officials will display a variety of Yoga ‘asanas’ in the event. The event will also be visited by PM Narendra Modi who is also expected to perform yoga.

It was further added by the senior official of the ministry that the entire of Rajpath has been covered and that around 35,000 people are expected to perform asanas during the event. The event is set start on 7am on June 21. Mats will be provided by the ministry to help perform the ‘asanas’.
