UNSC to take up Ban on Masood Azhar
India is constantly demanding for a ban on JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar after the Pulwama terror attack. India is pressing to declare him as a global terrorist.
Hence, The United Nations Security Council will look into the matter on March 13.
Though many nations including the US are supporting India, China is opposing it.
This is not the first time for the country to oppose the ban on Azhar. Earlier, it prevented the matter using its veto power. It blocked such moves made by India and other UN members thrice.
Now, this time as well, it is trying to stop the ban on the terrorist. Yesterday, China said that a responsible solution can only be taken through the discussions.
China also said that it is trying to ease the border tension between India and Pakistan. It has made huge efforts for it as security is the most important topic.
China is arguing that the prevailing incidents are not in the interest of peace and stability in the region.
This seems that the country is not supporting India and might prevent the ban on terrorist activities. Though China has not announced its stand, it seems to block the moves of India and other members again.
The US, the UK and France had moved a proposal on the ban on Maulana Masood Azhar and designate him as a global terrorist at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) after the Pulwama terror attack.
He was the man behind the tragic attack.
As per the sources, the 1267 committee of the UNSC would take a resolution on March 13.
India’s argument is that Pakistan has all the JeM training camps and Masood Azhar is also residing there. Hence, it insisted to designate him as a global terrorist.
