PM Modi’s interaction with CMs
India has been reporting thousands of coronavirus cases for the past so many days. In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the chief minister of various state governments and Lt Governors of Union Territories.
As PM wants to interact with all state governments and UTs, the meeting is on two consecutive days, i.e. Tuesday and Wednesday.
It was his sixth meeting with the chief ministers since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
Yesterday, he interacted with 21 chief ministers of different states and Lt governors of UTs and discussed various things. These include northeast states and other states that are not affected by COVID-19 much.
Here are the highlights of PM Modi’s interaction with chief ministers:
- PM said that the death rate due to coronavirus is low in India compared to various other nations.
- The recovery rate has also improved to more than 50 per cent.
- It has been two weeks since the beginning of Unlock 1.0. This experience could help the country in future.
- PM wants to know the actual situation from the chief ministers to formulate a future strategy to tackle with coronavirus effectively.
- Thousands of Indians who stuck in abroad have returned to the motherland; many migrant workers and labourers reached their home places.
- All modes of transport have resumed operations in India, yet the effect of COVID-19 is not as much as it is in other nations across the globe.
- People should not step out without wearing a face mask or face cover as the number of coronavirus cases has been rising in India.
- They should also maintain enough physical distance. And follow other preventive measures like hand washing and disinfecting surroundings.
- PM said that with the collective effort of states and the Centre, India is working to control COVID-19 and set an example to cooperative federalism.
