PM Modi to inaugurate Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project
Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Today PM Modi is going to inaugurate the first phase of the project. It is all set for a grand inauguration by the PM. The cost of the first phase of the project is ₹339 crores. The total cost of the project is estimated at ₹800 crores.
The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor connects the temple and ghats along the River Ganga. It is aimed to boost tourism.
The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor development project intends to revive the age-old traditions of the temple. Devotees take a holy dip in the River Ganga while visiting the shrine and carry the holy water from the River to offer to the deity at the temple. Nowadays, only a few people are following these traditions.
The foundation stone of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project was laid in March 2019 by PM Modi.
Today PM inaugurates the first phase of the corridor. It is estimated that around 3,0000 guests will attend the inauguration ceremony. These include political leaders, saints and seers.
Apart from the Cheif Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the CMs of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Karnataka, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura will also be joining the inauguration ceremony. In other words, the CMs of 12 BJP ruled states will attend the ceremony.
Besides, nine Deputy Chief Minister will also present the occasion. Spiritual leaders like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Kanchi Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, Sadhvi Ritambhara etc., and many BJP leaders also attend the inauguration ceremony.
The first phase of the project spreads across about five lakh square feet. In the initial phase, PM Modi inaugurates 23 buildings. These buildings will offer numerous facilities to pilgrims. Some of them are tourist facilitation centres, yatri suvidha kendras, Vedic Kendra, city museum, food court, viewing gallery etc.
