New international flight rules
Air travel between countries has become a headache for many governments thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is not possible to stop travel between countries completely.
Many countries are already lifting their travel restrictions from India as well. However, there are still some rules that passengers should be aware of to have a hassle-free journey.
Many airlines including Indian and Foreign ones are offering different options to Indians who are looking to travel to countries like the US, UK, and Japan etc.
These new arrangements are called Transport Bubbles.
They are temporary arrangements to help commercial air passengers travel between countries.
India has lifted the suspension of all existing visas except electronic, tourist, and medical visas. For people whose visas have expired, a fresh visa of the relevant category can be obtained.
If foreign nationals are looking to visit India for medical treatment, they can apply for a fresh visa.
If an Indian national wants to fly abroad, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has made some guidelines to follow. Passengers must submit a self-declaration form on http://www.newdelhiairport.in 72 hours before their travel.
They must also agree to the condition that they will go through a 14-day quarantine (seven days of institutional quarantine on their own cost, followed by seven days of isolation at home).
If you are travelling to other countries, then you must also be aware that different countries have different rules regarding isolation and testing. Ensure that you read about the country’s latest rules before you travel.
Also, some of the test labs from India providing negative COVID test results are not being accepted by foreign authorities.
