NCRTC launches free shuttle service for better connectivity | Fusion - WeRIndia

The NCRTC has launched a free shuttle service connecting Ghaziabad RRTS Station to Shaheed Sthal Metro Station, ensuring enhanced convenience for commuters.

This initiative focuses on improving last-mile connectivity and offering a smooth transition between these two key transit hubs.

The shuttle service employs e-rickshaws to transport passengers efficiently across the 300-meter distance between the stations.

These rides operate during peak hours and are provided free of charge.  They aim to deliver a comfortable, safe, and hassle-free travel experience for the public.

The initiative also aligns with sustainability goals by utilizing eco-friendly electric vehicles.

NCRTC has indicated that the fleet will expand based on demand to cater to more commuters.

Strategically located at Meerut Tiraha Mor, the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station serves as a critical junction along the Ghaziabad-Meerut route.

Thousands of people use this route daily for work and other activities. Recognizing the heavy foot traffic and the need for smoother connectivity, NCRTC has introduced this service to reduce travel stress. Besides, it also improves passenger safety.

Shortly, a foot-over bridge will connect Shaheed Sthal Metro Station with the Namo Bharat Station. Thus, the initiative ensures even more convenient access and further simplifies access between the two locations.

While the construction of the bridge is underway, the shuttle service will continue to operate uninterrupted.

Furthermore, electric buses managed by Ghaziabad City Transport Services Limited enhance connectivity at all Namo Bharat stations in the region.

These buses currently serve seven routes. These include Sahibabad, DPS Rajnagar, Duhai, Murad Nagar, and Modi Nagar.

For additional convenience, taxi services provided by mobility partners are also available. Some of them even offer special discounts for Namo Bharat commuters.

This project reflects NCRTC’s commitment to improving public transportation and promoting sustainable travel. In addition, it also intends to ensure a stress-free commute for residents of Ghaziabad and surrounding areas.
