The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has opened the Meerut South RRTS station for passengers. It is a major step toward improving regional connectivity which marks a significant milestone in the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.

This newly inaugurated eight-kilometre stretch extends the operational length of the corridor to 42 kilometres, now connecting nine stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South.

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, designed to streamline travel between key locations, has been rapidly advancing.

In October last year, the corridor’s 17-kilometre priority section, linking Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, was launched for commercial operations.

Building on this progress, the Namo Bharat train services began running on the 17-kilometre stretch from Duhai to Modi Nagar North in March of this year.

This section included critical stations like Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, and Modi Nagar North.

With the recent operationalization of the additional eight-kilometre stretch extending from Modi Nagar North to Meerut South, commuters can now experience significantly reduced travel times.

The journey from Meerut South to Sahibabad once took nearly two hours, but now it can be completed in just 30 minutes. It is possible due to the introduction of Namo Bharat train services.

This new development positions the Meerut South station as a pivotal entry point to the city of Meerut, offering substantial benefits to residents of surrounding areas. Some of these include Aminagar, Chhajjupur, Kharkhoda, Mohiuddinpur etc.

The enhanced connectivity is expected to ease daily commutes and support the economic integration of these regions.

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor now features nine fully operational stations, including Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Ghaziabad, Modi Nagar South, and the newly inaugurated Meerut South.

These developments represent a significant leap in enhancing the efficiency and convenience of travel between Meerut and Delhi. Besides, they also address the needs of daily commuters and foster stronger regional connectivity.

The NCRTC’s commitment to expanding and optimizing this corridor is set to bring long-term benefits to residents and businesses alike, making travel faster, safer, and more accessible.
