Namo Bharat train successfully concludes the trial run
In a significant stride towards enhancing regional connectivity, the Namo Bharat train recently completed a successful trial run on the 17 km priority section of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) that spans Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
The trial, conducted from Duhai to Modi Nagar South, marked a crucial phase in the operational testing of this high-speed rail network.
Departing from Duhai station, the Namo Bharat train navigated its route, encompassing key stations such as Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar North, Modi Nagar South, and concluding at Meerut South.
The current phase involves meticulous testing of the track and traction, with the train being operated manually under the Train Control Management System.
The journey from Murad Nagar to Modi Nagar South witnessed the train maintaining a minimal speed, showcasing the precision and efficiency of the RRTS.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) revealed that the 25 km stretch between Duhai and Meerut South RRTS station is slated to be the next section opened for public use.
This corridor boasts four stations, and its completion signifies a substantial step towards realizing an integrated and efficient transportation network.
The construction progress in the area has been commendable, with the viaduct up to Meerut South witnessing completion in June.
The installation of the last span marked a pivotal moment, after which various essential works such as track laying, overhead electrification installation, signalling and telecom, and electrical installations have been swiftly advancing.
The NCRTC reported that the track laying is nearing completion, and the final stages of other critical works are well underway.
This development aligns with the vision set forth when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Namo Bharat train on October 20 in the initial 17 km priority section between Sahibabad to Duhai Depot.
The successful trial run underscores the commitment to delivering a state-of-the-art transportation system that caters to the growing needs of the region.
As the RRTS continues to make strides, this successful trial run serves as a testament to the dedication and efficiency with which the project is being executed, promising a transformative impact on the region’s connectivity and mobility.
