Narendra Modi to take oath soon

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to take oath on May 30 as the Prime Minister of India for a second consecutive term.

While some other reports suggest that the swearing-in ceremony would be on May 26.

However, the official statement has yet to be announced on this.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is ready to begin its second term.


It has won a total of 351 in 542 seats.

PM Modi will take the oath as India’s 15th Prime Minister at Rashtrapati Bhavan along with his council of ministers.

The Union Cabinet yesterday met to dissolve the 16th Lok Sabha. The term of Lok Sabha will be ending on June 3. Followed by the resolution of the Cabinet to dissolve the Lok Sabha, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind will dissolve the Lok Sabha.

The 17th Lok Sabha will be established before June 3. In the meantime, the three Election Commissioners will meet the President in the coming days to submit the list of newly-elected members.

Before his swearing-in ceremony, Modi will visit his constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to thank the voters and common public and his home state Gujarat to take his mother’s blessings.

The leaders of SAARC countries were invited to the last oath-taking ceremony of PM Modi in 2014. Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also attended that event.

There is no official announcement on the guest list of this year’s oath ceremony. Also, there is no update on whether this time’s ceremony will be bigger than that of the last time event in 2014.
