Multiple drone sightings along the LoC trigger a security alert

Border tensions resurfaced on Thursday evening after suspected drone activity was reported along the Line of Control.

According to PTI, the Indian Army detected and fired upon a suspected Pakistani drone in Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident took place in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district near the LoC.

Following the sightings, security forces across forward areas were immediately put on high alert.

Officials said repeated aerial movements raised serious security concerns.

As a precaution, the Army initiated extensive ground search operations. The aim was to trace possible infiltration or hostile activity.

Reportedly, troops stationed in the Nowshera sector noticed a drone around 6.35 PM. They responded by firing medium and light machine guns at the aerial object.

Meanwhile, another drone was spotted over Khabbar village in the Teryath area. Officials noted that the object carried a blinking light.

According to reports, it entered from the direction of Dharmsal village in Kalakote. Later, it moved further towards the Bharakh area.

Simultaneously, security agencies received inputs from the Samba district. A drone-like object hovered over Chak Babral village in the Ramgarh sector.

This sighting occurred around 7.15 PM and lasted several minutes. Local observers also noticed blinking lights during the hovering period.

Earlier, another suspected drone was seen in Poonch district. It reportedly moved from Tain towards Topa in the Mankote sector at 6.25 PM.

Therefore, multiple sightings across Rajouri, Samba, and Poonch raised alarm levels. As a result, surveillance and monitoring were intensified along sensitive stretches.

Officials confirmed that troops remained deployed throughout the evening. However, no confirmation of debris recovery was issued.

Importantly, authorities reported no civilian injuries or monetary damage. The situation remained under control, officials added.

These incidents come months after India carried out Operation Sindoor. During the operation, Indian forces destroyed several terror launchpads across the border.

Since then, relations between India and Pakistan have remained tense. Officials believe drone movements could signal renewed infiltration attempts.

Meanwhile, the Army continues to maintain heightened vigilance along the LoC. Further assessments will follow as security agencies review the incidents.
