28 coronavirus positive cases in India

The health ministry confirmed that there were 28 coronavirus positive cases in India. These include the three people in Kerala who had been identified with coronavirus initially. They got cured and discharged.

All major airports were under screening and many suspects were isolated and kept under observation.

Yet, the number of positive cases of novel coronavirus cases rose to 28.

Out of these 28 people, 16 are Italian travellers who travelled to Rajasthan and then Agra before the screening began. A driver who accompanied the Italian group has got the infection from that group.


A Hyderabad techie who travelled to the city from Bengaluru after landing from Dubai also got it. However, he got screened at the airport, so, it did not spread.

A Delhi man who returned from Europe was not screened initially as he was returning from Europe which was thought to have not been hit by coronavirus.

However, now that the virus is spreading to almost all parts of the world, every suspect is being screened. As the Delhi man was infected with coronavirus but not suspected, his family members, six people got the infection from him.

Now, all the patients who were tested and confirmed with coronavirus infection are kept under isolation at various hospitals across the country.

It is difficult to trace people who have contacted the patients. However, Union Minister for Health Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the government is working to trace people who may have had contact with the infected people.

He said that that all domestic and international passengers who arrive on international flights would have to undergo medical screening.

So far, 5,89,000 people have been screened at airports and more than 10 lakh people were screened at borders with Nepal.
