Pre-diabetes is a condition that presents in several people. In this condition you will find that your blood sugar level is high despite not being diagnosed as diabetic.

When you are in this condition, it means there is high chance that you will develop type 2 diabetes.

Symptoms of pre-diabetes are hard to see because they seem general. However, if you find these symptoms and act fast, you can prevent diabetes. Here are the things you should look out for.

Increased thirst


When you are in pre-diabetes, you will experience an increased amount of thirst. However, don’t worry just because you got thirsty. This can also happen with normal dehydration. Check the other signs to confirm.

Frequent urination

If you find yourself having to urinate frequently, then it could be a sign that diabetes is on the horizon.

Blurry vision

If you find yourself experiencing blurry vision, then it could be a sign too. You will have a lack of sharpness in what you see. The objects you try to see end up being hazy.

Inflammation of gums

Inflammation of gums can be a big sign of pre-diabetes too. This is because they get infected frequently. It is a big sign of diabetes. The condition becomes worse if not treated quickly.

Dark patches

In pre-diabetes, you will often find that you get dark patches on your skin. Neck, armpits, elbows, knees and knuckles are usually the areas which are affected.

Loss of weight

If you suddenly find yourself losing weight, then be cautious, it can suggest many ailment, diabetes being one of them. This happens because of the glucose in blood cannot be used for energy, so the body uses the fat.

Bad healing

The cuts or sore you have generally take longer to heal. This is one of the most common signs of diabetes.
