PPBL introduces Paytm Transit Card
To help customers with their daily needs, Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL) rolled out a card, Paytm Transit Card. The new card aims to fulfil the day-to-day needs of people from travel in metro, railways, buses to payments at offline merchant stores. The card can be used for online shopping and toll and parking charges. It also can be used to withdraw cash from ATMs.
Paytm Transit Card is a prepaid card directly linked to the Paytm Wallet. Users can just top up the wallet. With its ‘One Nation, One Card’ motto, the company aims to reach more than 50 lakh users.
Paytm associated with Hyderabad Metro Rail, Ahmedabad Metro and the Delhi Airport Express Line to launch this card in the first phase.
The card is already operational in the Delhi Airport Express line and Ahmedabad Metro. Those who use this card in these metro stations can also use the same card in all other metro stations.
The Paytm Transit Card is linked to the Paytm Wallet to carry out all transactions. There is no need to maintain a separate account for this, and users can top up their Paytm Wallet account to use the card.
Paytm claims that the Transit card is a one-stop solution for users as it fulfils all their financial needs. Since the card can be used for multiple transactions, users need not carry multiple cards for different purposes. Besides, the card will also help promote digital transactions in the country.
Paytm Transit Card is the second product of the company. Before rolling out the Transit Card, PPBL successfully issued FASTags to its customers.
The application process is completely digital for this card. The company delivers the physical card at the doorsteps of the users. Also, users can purchase it at designated sales points.
