If you fill the application and make mistakes, then your application might be rejected.

In order to avoid such rejection, you have to know about certain things while applying for a PAN card.

Here are the mistakes you should avoid at the time applying for a PAN card:

  • While writing your name, fill your full name and avoid initials or abbreviations.
  • Write your father’s name in the specified column even if you are a female applicant. Do not write your spouse name in that column.
  • In the application form, you have to make two signatures in the provided boxes. Make sure that your signature does not run outside the provided box which may result in an error. You should also use a black ink pen to sign on the application. Do not write the date or your designation after the signature.
  • Provide your postal address and PIN code correctly. It is better to add a landmark to get your PAN card easily without any delay. Provide your phone number and email address to receive further communication from the IT department.
  • Use a clear photograph on the application. Always use an original photo and not a scanned copy. If you are sending a physical copy of your application, then fix your photo with glue not staple.
  • You need to submit an identity proof and address proof along with your PAN application. The document you send should have the same name as the applicant. Make sure that the name has no spelling errors or difference with that of documents you submit as proof.
