Farmers can buy through the store using digital payment methods.
Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched the Kisan Store on Thursday, saying that this initiative would benefit farmers and transform the agricultural sector.
Apart from English, Kisan Store will also be present in various Indian languages like Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
Amazon already opened Easy Stores to help customers with online shopping.
These Easy Stores offer help to customers who are not tech-savvy. Besides, these stores provide multiple services. For instance, customers can pick up their orders directly from the store.
Now, these easy shop owners help farmers in various ways. These include creating Amazon accounts, identifying their required product, placing orders and payments for them.
Amit Agarwal, Global Senior Vice President, Amazon India, says that Kisan Stores aim to create a dedicated ecosystem for farmers where they can get access to their desired products hassles-free.
Amazon also launched agronomy services for farmers recently to help them provide timely advice for making accurate decisions related to their crops. It will use machine learning technology for better produce and strengthening supply chain infrastructure.
This all-inclusive programme offers scientific crop planning to farmers on soil and weather conditions. They can get inputs on the management of crops.
