Private school students shift to government schools in Gujarat
Many parents opt for private schools to educate their children, even though government schools have well-qualified staff. There are many reasons for this. As parents prefer to join their children in private schools, their number has been increasing in many states. It is a common trend.
But to the contrary, a new trend is observed in Gujarat. Students from private schools are shifting to government schools in the state.
According to the reports of the Primary Education Department, Gujarat, there has been a rise in the number of students shifting from private schools to government schools in the last two years.
The officials said that there was a significant increase in the number of students shifting to government schools due to improving facilities. The number has been increasing. Since many parents decided to shift their children to government schools, a few private schools shut down in the state.
The facilities in the government schools have improved. Many government schools have clean drinking water facilities, libraries and laboratories. Also, some of them have a few digital classrooms, playgrounds and swimming pool facilities. As a result, many students are enrolling in them. Some parents also decided to shift their children to government schools from private schools.
Local people say that the facilities and quality of education in government schools have improved over the past few years. Besides, these schools have well-qualified teachers. Children like their way of teaching.
In addition to that, they provide mid-day meals to students. They also offer scholarships to students. The most important thing is that they do not charge for all these facilities they provide to students. That’s why several parents are opting for government schools.
Some others say that they lost their livelihood and jobs due to the pandemic. Hence, they decided to join their children in government schools rather than private schools that charge huge fees.
