New train timetable by Railways
As several people are going to their home places for the festival, Indian Railways changed the timetable of many trains starting from November 1.
The Railways changes the timetable of trains each year from July 1. However, due to COVID-19, the Railways suspended several trains. Since journeys have not resumed for the past few months, the Railways did not implement the timetable change.
But, now, due to the festive season, many passengers are travelling to their native places, pilgrimages etc.
As a result, the demand for rail services has increased. Considering the demand, the Railways arranged special trains for its passengers.
It also decided to change the timetable of trains from November 1. The schedule of many trains, including Rajdhani, was changed as per the new timetable. However, Railways decided not to change the timings of the trains running on main routes.
Mainly timing of special trains running through UP and Bihar was changed. Railways also decided to change the status of some trains and these trains have been given the superfast train status.
The timings of many trains changed as per the new timetable. The change of time varies ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
As per the latest information, New Delhi-Chandigarh Tejas Express would start at 9:40 a.m. from New Delhi Railway Station and reach Chandigarh at 12:40 p.m. The train will be operated on all days of the week except Wednesday.
The same train from Chandigarh to New Delhi, i.e. Chandigarh-New Delhi Tejas Express will start at 2:35 p.m. from Chandigarh and reach New Delhi railway station at 5:30 p.m.
Now the speed of Udhampur express has increased as it has been given the status of superfast status.
