Foods for metabolic syndrome
Metabolic syndrome is a group of various health conditions like hypertension, weakened glucose tolerance, and the accumulation of fat around the abdomen. It increases the risk of heart diseases, stroke, and diabetes.
There are many reasons for the development of metabolic syndrome. These include a poor diet, obesity, lack of physical activity, and genetics.
Regular exercise or moderate physical activity for at least 30 minutes daily can prevent the risk of metabolic syndrome.
Besides, a healthy diet, adequate sleep, low sodium intake etc. can reduce the risk. Keep your mind peacefully by doing meditation and yoga regularly to prevent the condition.
Follow these tips. Also, eat healthy food to prevent risk.
Here is a list of certain foods to be eaten for metabolic syndrome:
- Eat complex carbohydrates like brown rice, corn, wholegrain bread, oatmeal, barley, and quinoa to control your weight and LDL cholesterol.
- High fibre food items like fruits, vegetables, lentils, oats etc. can help lower the risk of heart problems. They also can prevent the risk of diabetes, obesity, colon cancer etc.
- Consume healthy fats or unsaturated fats like nuts and seeds. They help prevent the risk of metabolic syndrome and atherosclerosis.
- Milk is protein-rich. Hence, it helps manage your weight and thereby prevents the risk of obesity and heart conditions.
