Selfies with Dustbin Competition
The citizens of Jharkhand have a good opportunity to win a smartphone by sending selfies with dustbins.
In order to encourage citizens towards cleanliness, central government and various state governments are initiating several programs.
One such program was recently initiated in Jharkhand. The Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) which belongs to Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur, urged citizens to send the selfies with dustbins and promised to give smartphones to the best selfie entries.
The announcement was made as part of Swachh Bharat campaign and the main intention is to encourage youth and local people to use dustbins for throwing garbage and reduce the habit of throwing waste on the roads.
These days, people are obsessed with taking selfies for every occasion despite their age. Hence, the competition is initiated, says Sanjay Kumar, MNAC special officer. The government is anticipating the maintenance of cleanliness in the city as the competition gives the people a chance of winning smartphones.
Out of the entries they receive, three best entries will be picked up by way of lucky draw and given smartphones on October 2, the day of Gandhi Jayanti. In addition to this, the first 50 selfies that are sent to the government will receive certificates from it as a token of their personal efforts in keeping the city clean. For this, a committee has been formulated.
The participants who want to join in selfies with dustbin competition need to submit their selfies either to the committee office or share it on the Facebook page of MNAC. The last date to participate in the competition is 30 September.
This is not the first case in holding a competition on maintaining cleanliness in the state. Government school teachers were asked by the drinking water and sanitation department to send the selfies with their toilets as background a few month ago.
At that time, the department stated that in this ways they can make sure that the teachers have toilets at their home.
