Carry your Aadhaar securely with the new UIDAI app
In today’s digital era, convenience and security go hand in hand. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new Aadhaar app that lets users carry their Aadhaar card digitally on their smartphones.
With this, you no longer need to carry a physical Aadhaar card everywhere.
The app focuses on security and user privacy. It is protected with biometrics and face unlock, ensuring that your personal information stays safe.
You can access Aadhaar details for yourself and your family members if their numbers are linked to your registered mobile.
Moreover, the app offers a “Hide Info” option. This allows you to conceal unnecessary data, such as your address or date of birth, when only your name and photo are needed.
Downloading the Aadhaar app is simple. It is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Just search for “Aadhaar app” and install it like any other application. After installation, log in with your registered mobile number to view your Aadhaar details instantly.
During setup, the app requires facial recognition to verify your identity. This step is mandatory to ensure authenticity and prevent misuse. The process is quick and designed for user convenience.
Interestingly, the new Aadhaar app also supports offline access for limited features.
While the initial setup requires an internet connection, you can later view your Aadhaar details even without one.
However, to use all advanced options, an internet connection is necessary.
Using the app is straightforward. First, download and install it. Choose your preferred language, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, and send an SMS from your registered mobile.
After verifying the OTP, perform face authentication and set a six-digit password.
Once done, your digital Aadhaar card appears on the profile page. You can then mask, share, or secure it with a biometric lock. Additionally, you can add up to four more Aadhaar profiles.
The new Aadhaar app combines ease, security, and accessibility, making Aadhaar management smarter, safer, and simpler than ever.
