Ganesh BM, a resident of Arji panchayat in Kodagu, believes in giving back to the community rather than accumulating wealth.

A successful electrical contractor, Ganesh has dedicated his resources to uplifting the underprivileged by providing them with homes and essential amenities.

On his 50th birthday, instead of indulging in a grand celebration, Ganesh marked the occasion by gifting a two-bedroom house to a poor family. He was born in poverty and lived in a straw hut for years.

As he succeeded due to his hard work and determination, he felt the urge to help the needy.

Ganesh’s philanthropic work began during his tenure in local governance. After being elected to the Betoli Gram Panchayat in 2000 and later serving as vice-president and Taluk Panchayat member, he witnessed the struggles of impoverished families firsthand.

One pivotal moment came when he learned about a girl who scored 95% in her SSLC exams despite studying under an oil lamp. Moved by her story, Ganesh arranged for free electricity to her home.

In 2023, during a panchayat survey, Ganesh met Kala, a tribal man living in dire conditions. Determined to improve Kala’s life, Ganesh built him a four-bedroom house, handing over the keys on January 22, 2024, coinciding with the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

In April 2024, Ganesh helped a family from the Billava community after their house collapsed.

Spending ₹2.5 lakh, he constructed a four-bedroom house for Kamala and her family.

Inspired by his generosity, five other families sought his assistance, and Ganesh ensured they received free electricity connections.

For his milestone birthday, Ganesh built a two-bedroom house for Shankru and Vasanthi, who lived in a dilapidated straw hut.

Spending ₹1.6 lakh, he gifted them a new home, emphasizing the importance of helping the less fortunate.

Ganesh says that donate the money to those in need after keeping adequate money to live decently.

His life is a shining example of how compassion and generosity can transform lives.
