Gurmail Singh Dhonsi, a fabricator cum mechanic has innovated many products which helped in agricultural activities and heavy earth moving machines. He even received national recognition for his work. He was felicitated by the president himself.

Gurmail’s father wanted him to study, however he was very interested in becoming a mechanic. In order to quench his thirst, he was sent to different workshops in a nearby town. However, he was not satisfied with those workshops.

To him, a workshop is a place with a lot of machines and repair work. He only found scooter repairing and other repairing there which did not grab his attention. Finally, he decided to work at a tractor repairing shop at just the age of 13. He slowly learned how things worked and impressed his employer.

He joined with his father later and they both established their own workshop. He learned many things and was soon started making many innovations.

In January 2007, he came with the innovation The Rapid Compost Aerator. This machine simulates the process of how earthworms breakdown waste by eating and excreting. The machine helps in making compost for many farmers.

The tree pruner is another one of his innovations. It can be mounted on any tractor and it can be used to prune trees which are up to 20ft high. Here’s wishing him all the best for more great innovations.
