Meet 65-year-old tennis champion

Many people are under the notion that only young people can succeed in sports due to their strength. But, it is not completely true as many senior citizens also excelled in sports.

If you have a strong passion and dedication, you can achieve anything. Age is not a criterion. It is just a number. Many elderly people proved it in many instances.

Here is a 65-year-old man who won a tennis championship. Alapati Suresh from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, won many state championships and national-level tournaments.

Suresh worked as an assistant engineer in the irrigation department. He has been passionate about tennis for the past 30 years.

Since then, he has been playing tennis and participating in many competitions. He practices for two hours daily. He won several inter-district tournaments organized by many sports clubs.

Though he could win many small competitions, he was not able to participate in state-level or national-level competitions due to his job.

After his retirement, Suresh started participating in many tournaments. His strong wish to win a big league competition was fulfilled only after his retirement. He participated in many national-level tournaments and won several medals in the last five years.

Suresh won 12 gold medals at various state-level competitions and spellbound the viewers with his awesome performance.

In addition, he also a gold medal in a tournament held by the All Indian Senior Tennis Association. Furthermore, he won many silver medals in national competitions held by Global Indian Senior Tennis Association.

He also inspired many people by winning the International Tennis Federation tournament doubles recently.

Suresh says that tennis helps relieve physical as well as psychological stress. He confidently says that he does not have any health issues as the sport has helped him to be healthy. Now, at the age of 65, Suresh started practicing for an international competition.
