From balcony plants to a green movement
Urban living is steadily reshaping how people connect with nature. Amid concrete skylines, one entrepreneur is quietly restoring that balance.
Avichal Ojha, a 25-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, transformed a college assignment into a growing green enterprise.
Raised in Surahi village, he developed an early understanding of plants through daily exposure to agriculture.
Later, his move to Noida revealed a stark contrast. Tall buildings replaced fields, yet residents lacked knowledge about plant care.
During his graduation, he began small. With just ₹500, he bought saplings and sold them to professors.
However, questions about plant health soon followed. This made him realise that guidance mattered more than sales. By the project’s end, he earned ₹25,000 and discovered a deeper opportunity.
After college, he continued independently. He delivered plants across societies on his scooty. Although resources were limited, he focused on building trust.
Customers often struggled despite regular watering. Therefore, he identified nutritional deficiencies as the main issue. At the same time, many preferred chemical-free solutions, which shaped his approach.
Then came the pandemic, halting all physical work. He returned to his village but stayed connected digitally.
Through videos, calls, and WhatsApp groups, he guided people in plant care. Moreover, he hosted online sessions, including a hydroponics webinar with global participation. This shift expanded his reach beyond cities.
In 2022, he formally registered TheGreenWealth. Gradually, he built a small team and trained gardeners in scientific methods.
As a result, their expertise improved, and so did client satisfaction. The company now serves thousands of homes, especially in Delhi NCR.
By March 2024, he launched a plant nutrition range. These products focused on strengthening roots and improving plant health.
Consequently, they reached over 10,000 households through online platforms. Meanwhile, services like plant installation and maintenance continued to grow steadily.
The venture also engages schools and corporates, spreading awareness about sustainable living. With revenues touching ₹17 lakh and rising, the journey reflects steady progress.
Avichal’s story highlights patience and purpose. His work shows that small efforts, when nurtured well, can create lasting change in urban spaces.
