A government residential school for visually challenged girls in Visakhapatnam recently demonstrated this through an outstanding SSC examination performance.

The school achieved 100% results in the SSC March 2026 examinations, continuing a long-standing record of consistent success.

Significantly, every student in the batch secured first-class marks, a rare achievement that the institution witnessed again after nearly three decades.

The success reflected months of focused preparation and innovative learning methods. Students studied through Braille notes and specially recorded audio lessons prepared by teachers.

Using DAISY audio devices, they repeatedly listened to lessons, revised concepts carefully, and practised independently. This approach helped strengthen memory, confidence, and subject understanding.

Teachers played a major role throughout the academic year. They conducted regular revision sessions, monitored weekly progress, and clarified doubts individually.

Additionally, practice examinations and continuous evaluation helped students prepare effectively for the final tests.

During the SSC examinations, students received assistance from scribes who wrote answers based on dictation.

Instead of drawing diagrams or maps, students provided detailed written explanations according to examination guidelines. Careful preparation and repeated practice enabled them to present answers clearly and confidently.

The achievement also reflects changing opportunities in higher education for visually challenged students.

Many students now plan to pursue Intermediate education, while some have shown interest in science streams such as MPC and BiPC.

These opportunities, once considered difficult to access, are gradually becoming more inclusive.
