ISRO opens teacher recruitment drive for 10 posts at Sriharikota schools

Teaching aspirants looking for a Central Government career have a fresh opportunity as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced recruitment for teaching positions at its Space Central Schools in Sriharikota and Sullurpeta, Andhra Pradesh.

Through the latest notification, ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR) has invited online applications for 10 vacancies, including Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) and Primary Teachers (PRTs).

The schools follow the CBSE curriculum and offer attractive pay scales under the Central Government pay structure.

The online application process began on June 16, 2026, and interested candidates can apply until July 7, 2026.


The recruitment covers one post each for TGT Mathematics, TGT Science, TGT Telugu and Work Experience Teacher, along with six vacancies for Primary Teachers.

Selected TGT candidates will receive salaries under Pay Level-7, ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month.

Meanwhile, Primary Teachers will be placed in Pay Level-6 with a salary range of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400.

Eligibility requirements vary according to the post. For TGT positions, candidates must possess a relevant graduation degree, a B.Ed qualification and CTET Paper-II certification.

In addition, applicants should be capable of teaching in both Hindi and English. For Primary Teacher posts, candidates need 10+2 with at least 50% marks, along with D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed or an equivalent qualification. CTET Paper-I qualification is mandatory.

The upper age limit is 35 years for TGT posts and 30 years for Primary Teachers as of July 7, 2026. However, age relaxation will be available according to Government of India norms.

The selection process includes a written examination, followed by a teaching demonstration skill test, document verification and medical examination.

Final merit will be prepared based on written examination scores among candidates who qualify in the skill test.

Applicants must pay an examination fee of ₹750 through online mode. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, Ex-Servicemen and female categories will receive a full refund after appearing for the written examination.

General category candidates will receive a refund of ₹500 after taking the test.

Candidates should keep educational certificates, CTET documents, photographs, signatures and other supporting certificates ready before completing the online application process.
