TheGreenWealth Brings Science to Urban Plant Care

Urban gardening is growing in Indian cities, but keeping plants healthy remains a challenge for many households.

This gap led Avichal Ojha to build TheGreenWealth, a Noida-based plant-care startup that combines gardening services with scientific plant nutrition.

What began as a college project in 2018 with ₹500 has grown into a business serving more than 10,000 households across India.

The startup addresses a common problem among urban plant owners: buying plants is easy, but understanding their needs is not.

Customers often struggle with yellowing leaves, weak growth, pests and poor soil nutrition. Many rely on excessive watering or trial and error, which can further damage plants.

TheGreenWealth provides a more structured approach. Its team helps customers select suitable plants, install them and maintain them.

It also monitors plant health and recommends appropriate care. Its services cover more than 3,000 households across Delhi NCR, while the company directly manages over 100 homes in Noida.

In March 2024, the startup expanded into plant nutrition products. Its range includes organic potash, seaweed extract, neem oil, vermicompost, PROM, neem khali and mustard cake.

These products target common issues linked to nutrient deficiencies, pests and soil health.

For customers, the benefit is practical guidance alongside products. Instead of guessing how much water or fertiliser a plant needs, they receive advice based on the plant’s condition. The company says managed spaces can achieve survival rates of around 85%.

However, building the business has involved several challenges. Avichal initially delivered plants himself on a scooter and worked without external funding or a formal team.

The COVID-19 lockdown then stopped physical deliveries and restricted access to housing societies.

The startup responded by shifting its focus online. It used social media, WhatsApp and webinars to provide plant-care guidance. Later, it trained gardeners in soil composition, pest management and biofertiliser use.

Today, TheGreenWealth has a nine-member core team and has trained more than 20 gardeners. It recorded ₹17 lakh in revenue during FY2024-25 and expects ₹21–22 lakh this year.

Its journey highlights a simple urban need: helping people move from owning plants to actually keeping them healthy.
