Kheyti offers technology solutions to marginal farmers

Farmers in rural India face significant losses every year due to factors such as drought, heat, rain, and pest attacks.

Kheyti, a startup founded by Sathya Raghu Mokkapati, is addressing the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in India due to climate change.

Kheyti’s innovative solution, called the ‘Greenhouse-in-a-box,’ is designed to increase smallholder farmers’ profits. It provides them with a climate-controlled environment to grow crops.

The startup’s mission is to create a sustainable farming ecosystem that empowers smallholder farmers to achieve economic stability and success.

Kheyti was founded by Sathya Raghu Mokkapati. It uses innovation to alleviate the plight of small farmers in rural India who are affected by the harsh effects of climate change.

Raghus’ encounter with a farmer who ate mud due to crop failure sparked the idea for Kheyti’s ‘Greenhouse-in-a-box’ innovation.

It aims to increase smallholder farmers’ profits. The greenhouse provides a controlled environment for plants to thrive.

It helps reduce pests by 90% and cut off excess heat by 2-4°C. Besides, it also saves 98% of water compared to open-field conventional irrigation.

While it is impossible to cool the entire planet in one day, creating a suitable climate for a small portion of farmland can help smallholder farmers benefit from increased yields.

The Greenhouse-in-a-box kit comes in two variants. It costs ₹2 lakhs and ₹3.35 lakhs for 320 sq meters and 462 sq meters, respectively.

In addition to the kit, farmers also receive training on what to grow, how to grow it, and when to grow it.

The Greenhouse-in-a-box innovation is a respite for smallholder farmers who face annual losses due to drought, heat, rain, and pest attacks.

Kheyti provides a controlled environment for plants. Thus, it helps farmers increase their yield and thereby increased profits.

The innovation is especially beneficial for small farmers who often lack the resources to implement expensive solutions.

Kheyti’s Greenhouse-in-a-box kit has numerous benefits for farmers. The kit helps them mitigate the risks associated with climate change, which often leads to crop failure and financial losses.

The controlled environment provided by the greenhouse ensures that plants grow better. In addition, it also helps increase yields and improve crop quality.

The kit’s affordability and the training provided by Kheyti make it accessible to smallholder farmers who are often unable to implement expensive solutions.

Kheyti’s Greenhouse-in-a-box innovation is a game-changer for smallholder farmers in rural India.
