HealthFab: Sustainable Period Care

HealthFab: Sustainable Period Care

HealthFab is an Assam-founded startup transforming menstrual hygiene through sustainable, reusable products.

Established in 2020, the company aims to reduce dependence on disposable sanitary products by offering comfortable, affordable and environmentally conscious alternatives.

Its flagship innovation, GoPadFree, is a reusable period panty designed to absorb menstrual flow without requiring additional sanitary pads, tampons or menstrual cups.

By combining functionality with sustainability, HealthFab seeks to make period care more convenient while reducing menstrual waste.

According to the company, GoPadFree panties are made using organic cotton with Oeko-Tex certification and offer up to five times the absorbency of conventional sanitary pads.

Designed for repeated use, the product can withstand up to 50 washes, potentially reducing the need for disposable menstrual products.

HealthFab was founded by Kiriti Acharjee, Saurav Chakraborty and Satyajit Chakraborty, all from Assam.

Kiriti, the company’s CEO, has a background in electronic engineering and extensive experience in e-commerce, including professional associations with Amazon and Cloudtail.

The idea emerged from Kiriti’s interest in developing sustainable healthcare and hygiene solutions.

Growing up with his sister and other working women in the family helped him recognise the everyday challenges associated with conventional menstrual products.

Together, the founders pursued an alternative that could combine comfort, convenience and reduced environmental impact.

After several rounds of product testing and customer feedback, HealthFab launched GoPadFree in early 2020.

Since then, the startup has reported serving more than 20,000 customers and preventing over 15 tonnes of plastic waste in a year.

Customer feedback remains central to the company’s development strategy. HealthFab continues to explore improvements to the menstrual care experience while working towards more affordable product options for a wider audience.

With GoPadFree, HealthFab is building its business around reusable menstrual hygiene and responsible consumption.

Its next phase of growth will depend on making sustainable period care more accessible, maintaining product quality and expanding consumer awareness.

Through its focus on material innovation and practical design, the startup aims to contribute to a more sustainable future for menstrual hygiene in India.
