There are many startups in India. But definitely, Bucket List is a special one. Why it is so special?

What makes it so special? This is because Sakshi is the co-founder of the Bucket List.

She lost 70 per cent of her vision at the age of 19 years, but not lose her hope.

Initially, she was taken to a hospital when she was falling frequently as her vision was not clear. She was losing her peripheral vision at that time.

She was referred to AIIMS as her private ophthalmologist could not diagnose her problem. They conducted several tests and she was losing her vision continuously.

She did not know how terrible her disorder was until a doctor from the institute told that it is irreversible.

They were giving medicines to keep the condition from getting worse.

She cried a lot with her parents. Then she realized that there was nothing they could do. She wanted to be brave at least for the sake of her parents.

Now Sakshi is a social entrepreneur and co-founder of Bucket List. Bucket List is a Delhi based NGO. More than 2,000 children have been impacted by it in the last three years.

Bucket List empowers children through education, arts and sports. The social enterprise also helps in fulfilling the wishes of underprivileged children.

As she was a dropout due to her condition and quit her education while she was in her graduation, she is very much interested in education.

She improved her muscle memory to do simple tasks. She also learned assistive technology and screen readers with the support of her bother for her daily tasks.

Bucket List has emerged from her idea after her interaction with slum kids. Rida Ali, one of Sakshi’s friend is running the NGO.
