Samudrika Shastra is one of the branches of Indian astrology. It reveals the whole body analysis of humans. It has various branches including Mukh Samudrika, Hast Samudrika and Kapal Samudrika which deal with face reading, palmistry and phrenology respectively.

On the other hand, bony thumbs or bent thumbs are a symbol of bad luck. Soft, long and hairless fingers are a symbol of good fortune. But, bony, bent and hairy fingers indicate bad luck. A woman with somewhat red palms, elevated in the middle, and even spaced lines on the palm is considered as lucky.
